The WBCo Round Up 2020

The WBCo Round Up 2020

Well, that was some year wasn't it...

It's fair to say that no one saw a global pandemic coming and while it has been pretty trying and difficult for everyone, we really wanted to focus on the positives that have happened to us this year.

We got new family members

Our little family has expanded with us taking on 10 people this year. From manufacturing staff to our customer experience manager, each and every one of our newbies has fit in so well and continue to help the business go from strength to strength. We love you lot.

Not only that but we had three WBCo babies this year too. We haven't been able to hold them yet but as soon as it's safe, it will be cuddles all round!

We launched some new products and packaging

Our Bog Myrtle and Lime Cleanser and refill, and our Brow Elixir had a serious glow up this year, with both products now coming in packaging that reflects us as a brand and is a lot more environmentally friendly.

The Brow Brush arrived with a bang early this year and was nominated for the 'Best New Beauty Accessory or Brush' in the Pure Beauty Awards 2020.

We also launched our spoolie subscriptions back in June as well as our Brow Toolbox towards the end of the year. Not only will you never run out of spoolies, you also have somewhere to keep them.

We made some new friends

As a small business, we are always amazed when big opportunities come our way and becoming friends with Liberty London was definitely a highlight. We absolutely love the brand and are so proud to have our products available to buy both in store and online.

We were in Vogue which was a HUGE thing, as so many of us are fans of the magazine. I mean, it's VOGUE.

We worked (at a safe distance) with some amazing fellow creatives to elevate the brand to the next level. Big shout out to Dean and Jen at the Social Co, Bater and Street, Natasha Thompson, Lauren Marshall, Rocky Bower, Chelsea Hart, Paris Chanel, Matilda Wilson, Jo Leversuch, Tina Elliott and not forgetting our very own Kimberley Cattin and Jess Hopper. It was brilliant working with some super talented people and we hope to see you all soon.

We offered help where we could

When Covid-19 hit the UK back in March, we started to formulate our own hand sanitiser so that we could remain safe while working in the office (along with social distancing and mask-wearing) and decided that we wanted to do more. We manufactured as much Clean Down as we could to donate to local services like hospitals, police stations, schools and local businesses.

Not forgetting our own industry and knowing the struggles makeup artists were facing, we created the 'Welcome Back Packs' when they were given the green light to return to work in July. Each pack contained a Clean Down and Refill, plus some bamboo spoolies. We were really pleased to be in a position to show our industry some love, especially during such a tough time.

While we have selected some of the best bits of 2020, we have to say it hasn't all been smooth sailing. There have been lots of long working hours, shipping delays of important packages and products, Covid-scares and tears but we have persevered like everyone else and have managed to get through the year. We couldn't have done any of this without our wonderful customers and we want to thank you all for your ongoing love and support.

We wish you all the very best for 2021, we'll see you there
